Re: There's one out there to look at now . . .

< Hello, and sorry you think me so stupid.

From probably the stupidest regular posters here, Stop it!

Here is the biggest problem I have with accepted comet theory. What causes the dust trail to fall behind the comet? Seems to me that the comet has to be acted upon to make it accelerate and the dust to not accelerate, or the dust has to decelerate through some force not decelerating the comet. Otherwise the dust would be going in all directions not just behind the comet.

Try Comet Coma for a description of why the dust acts the way it does.

Likewise why does the ion trail blow in the solar wind when man made ion trails do not blow in the wind?

The magnetic field in the solar wind sweeps out the ion trail. Are your man made ions affected by a magnetic field from the solar wind in a vacuum at 0 g?

Try Comet Tail

If you still don't believe the above as reasonable explanations I would suggest posting your theory and questions at < href=http://groups.google.com/groups?q=sci.astro&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&sa=N&tab=wg > sci.astro or one of there sub sites and see what kind of response you get.
