There have been entire books written on this subject, but a few points to ponder:
A: All the global climate scientists combined are still unable to accurately predict the weather more than a few days out
B: No scientist ever got a fat monetary grant by saying "Hey, I don't think there's a problem here."
C: The motivations of those who yell the loudest for clamping down on industry are suspect, to say the least. A few things to check out: how they feel about other subjects, like capitalism in general; and their opinion on nuclear power, the most feasible way to cut greenhouse gases while keeping our energy production up.
