<...I'll trust concerned scientists over corporate greed any day. It is pretty damn obvious how much corporations fight to protect their profits.
I have a hard time trusting anyone on this issue. Of course your premise is that scientists never act out of greed or self-interest, or never fight to protect their territory. I have studied the "global warming" issue long enough to see who the major players are, and what they want. They all have agendas, and axes to grind, on BOTH sides. You haven't seen anything until you've seen scientists in a full-bore turf/funding battle.
If global warming is real, there are many solutions that would permit economic growth and still reduce greenhouse gases. Nuclear power is the most prominent one. Real environmentalists would be pushing nuclear power. Are they?
For your information, far from opposing it, Enron was planning to rake in big bucks by enthusiastically PROMOTING the Kyoto Treaty, despite evidence of massive economic impact.
