Motive Evaluation Method
The best way to evaluate motives in my mind is to note the opposition to global warming research from conservative groups and their claims the whole thing is a liberal conspiracy. That alone is enough to tell science is not the real issue for them. Attempting to dismiss a topic where potential costs are involved indicates self interest not an attempt to uncover the truth.
Skeptical thinking works on Liberal and conservative BS as well as UFOs and Mars artifacts.
