Re: Mars Society Commits To Translife Mission

Paul Bennett wrote: Word has it out of the New England chapter that Dr. Zubrin does not have the anonymous donor.

Chris writes: Not totally true. There is a "anonymous" donor who has family on his tail not to spend as much as 100 million on the "crazy" idea of sending mice into space. So we won't see that much out of that donor source...at this time.

Paul Bennett wrote: It looks like the university trio will have to do all of the fundraising themselves. Other than providing an idea, what is the Mars Society providing? I think the university teams deserve the credit as they are doing the work and funding the project themselves. I hope they succeed.

Chris writes: It's a partnership, the Mars Society is helping in many ways... including spacecraft communications, scientific review and technical aid as well as fundraising. Many of the students participating happen to be Mars Society members, btw. But, the Universities do deserve praises and most of the credit for the design. If you're interested in helping raise funds or have some loose cash let me know...I also hope we succeed...
