Implications of Hoffman's observation on the effect of the Moon on Earth

Nick Hoffman's observation last year that the eveolution of advanced intelligence would require both land and ocean, and that this is present on Earth because of the Moon, would appear to have another consequence.

A magnetosphere is also necessary for the development and continuation of life, and this requires a molten core. My question is, do the gravitational effects of the Moon also contribute to the Earth's core remanining in a molten state?
