Well $1.3 billion does seem a bit extravagant, but 747s and F15s aren’t built to fly in space, and how much would they cost if you were only going to build 3 or 4 of them. Now if you were going to build several hundred of the X38s you could reduce the cost per. by quite a bit, but what would you use them for.
