How long would the water last?

My guess is that some would seep into the Martian soil and freeze up again and the rest would escape the 'atmosphere'. Mars' dynamo died a long time ago along with the volcanic activity/plate tectonics. There are only traces of it ever having a magnetosphere. Liquid water has little chance when there's no recycling process protected by a biosphere.
