Something I'd like to see is a net robot that scans the different space exploration discussion groups and when it sees one of the old dumb fallacies repeated, the robot responds with an HTML link to an FAQ website that provides the pat answer. It's almost futile responding to the "Moon first" nonsense because two weeks from now someone else will repeat it again. The first time I read something like Lee's comment was around 1987 on one of the usenet discussion groups (supposably the first bullet proof refutations to Moon First were written in the early 1960s).
There's a big difference between the Moon First concept and Dracula. It takes only one stake through Dracula's heart to kill him but Moon First must have at least a dozen stakes through its heart but still keeps chugging along. I'm so bored with the thing that I won't even repeat the arguments. Search the archives of this BBS. The tired old Moon First chestnut has been beat to death at least a dozen times on this BBS alone.
