...but I'll start by being gracious.
One of you [Bowser], several weeks ago, posted a comment on this webpage stating "TransOrbital" was about to turn the moon into a "garbage dump".
...Yea, right! [My sarcasm, in exchange for your chynicism]
First: This issue has become personal, because I've invested $16.95 [US] in having TransOrbital's "Trailblazer" spacecraft carry my 300 char text message [to be stored on a disc with other messages from other customers] to the moon...
You can invest, too...Check their website at www.transorbital.com,and have your credit card handy.
I don't consider the disc with my message on it "lunar junk", if you do, I'll take you to task over it in the FLAME webpage.
Lunar environment as preservable
environment?...Why?...You think It's evil for humans to drop off scraps of metal on celestial bodies, whereas those bodies are already marred by craters and such?
Common! Get real, Bowser!
The moon is just a pile of rocks and dust [This comment must be sacrilege to you], not much different than a quarry site on earth; except the quarry site has life...No 'beautiful' spotted owls to save on the moon, no 'beautiful'
giant redwood forests...
By the way, Bowser? Do you know, or have any comprehension how vast the cosmos are? All the 'junk' humanity has ever, or ever will compile, vanishes into insignificance when viewed from
a cosmic persepective..You should know by now, Bowser, Earth is just a tiny
speck [mote] in the infinite cosmos.
Incidently!...As a cynic myself when it comes to 'private' commercial space endeavors, I lay aside my cynicism and salute TRANSORBITAL, INC.
for having gone beyond the talk, the
drawingboard, and fund-raising to ACTUALLY building the spacecraft "TRAILBLAZER" [nearing completion], and having sent up a prototype [yesterday] of it into LEO.
What has NASA [with taxpayer support]
done on the moon since 1998?...What has
NASDA, or RKA ,or ESA done on the moon
recently?...
And LUNACORP? RadioShack's darling.
LUNACORP won't launch it's lunar rover until AT LEAST 2005...if ever...
The moon a 'pristine' environment
worth preserving? HA HA HA! Very funny, Bowser [sarcasm]!...Show me one pristine environment in space, and I'll show you a region where cosmic s**t
is flying about, or marring celestial surfaces NATURALLY.
Jake [no friend of treehuggers]
I was thinking of posting this in the 'flame" webpage...
