I have heard the speculations about the electrostatic lift concepts on B-2's and other military planes. The flaw, of course, is that zapping up an airplane like this would give it a radio signature that would allow an enemy to pick you up over the horizon using a crystal radio. Hardly stealthy. But, I suppose nobody asked me.
