Neanderthal genes

I haven't studied this, but have read enough to know that the whole question is a lot more complicated than scientists thought a few years ago. A Google search on the phrase "Neanderthal genes" is enlightening.

For example, remains have been found that appear to indicate extensive interbreeding.
