Space/Science » in reply to Spectral responses lie and lie and lie ;-)

Same old, same old

[snip ranting and strawman arguments]

The "White Rock" deposit is pretty much unique in its reflectivity and brilliance. Why try to spin it otherwise? Nobody gains, knowledge is not advanced, science is not served.

For someone who routinely posts insulting insinuations, your post above does evince a certain amount of chutzpah, if not irony. That said, let me guess: you haven't even read the Ruff et al. paper, have you? Since your reply did not contain any substantive discussion of their results, and actually misstated what I posted, I would assume you do not have anything valuable to add to this thread. Indeed, your hand waving assertions are bordering on the fanatical. Come back and talk about spectral emissivity, separation of atmospheric components in the TES spectra, endmember sets, spectral response of the human eye vis a vis multispectral and hyperspectral imagers, etc., as well as the data processing methods involved in each, then we'll have something to discuss in an intelligent fashion.

Oh, and I almost forgot the smiley ;-)
