Thanks - 11 K.

Thanks Bamf,

I'll go back and check the figures. I wrote the abstract in a hurry since the deadline was suddenly hard upon me. I'll make sure the statement is correct by the time I get to give the paper (or poster) in Pasadena.

I think "hot spot" is a bit generous. These are "warm spots", at best.

The small spots in the south of the image could have larger central temperatures since they are sub-pixel size, but the two larger spots in the north are well-resolved and appear to be distributed heat sources.

Nonetheless, it's a consistent temperature difference, requiring some extra heat input?

Viking imagery suggests a couple of small mounds associated with those larger hotspots, but it's hard to be sure. Ken Edgett has put the site on the target list for MOC, but imaging in Hellas isn't good for quite a while yet, due to the clouds.

BTW, I tried downloading the whole THEMIS QUBE, but had trouble deciphering it with my software (ER Mapper) since the spaces between each band seem not to be integral multiples of the image width, so I got frame skipping that confused my software.
