Hi, Tom.

In 1997 when Hong Kong was 'given back' to China, I couldn't help but think of Northern Ireland's situation. Why can't Brittain come up with such a treaty for Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland (mostly Catholic) will always be part of the rest of the island. The conflict started 800 years ago when G. Brittain (mostly Protestant) wanted to claim that entire island as it's own.

Inspite of the religious labeling that goes on in the news, there IS freedom of religious choice in the rest of the island, what is now the free Republic of Ireland.
