Re: What would you do if you were Bush?

I would use this terrible loss of life as a means of lowering the threat of terrorism not merely to the US but to the entire world.
I would build a coalition of nations that are against such a idealogy- the idealogy being that US is some Evil nation that need as to be stopped at any cost. Bin Ladin would simply be my "posterboy". I want to get him and put him in jail, but I would use his extreme insane idealogy to my advantage.
I would want to "do things" to amplify the messages of various leaders of "terrorist states" who are now publically denouncing this act. I would "force" all the other terrorist type nations to make a choice. Now if any nation can not make this very small concession- they have picked the wrong side. And I would make sure they paid in some way for making this wrong choice.
In other words I want more "dialogue" on how this is such a bad thing.
I would be willing to use the club, but I wouldn't be in a hurry.
In other words this would an excellent opportunty to put all these "problem" nation's feet to the fire. This could also be used to get the peace settlement resolved. Obviously, it's also going to also be an advantage to these nations- they can also win. It's a win-win type solution- it's a win situation for everyone, except Bin Ladin and any nation stupid enough to decide to support him.
