Britain has much harsher censorship laws than the US. (Probably instituted to suppress us Scots & Irish)
As you pointed out "Imagine" was performed last night on the US telecast. It's a fine song aiming at ideals that are far from being realized in the real world and ideals that may not ever be achievable given the realities of human nature. The universe is what it is, not what we wish it were.

As to the 1,000% Bush support contention, most of what I've seen posted here is commentary on radical leftist hate speech directed at the very fabric of American society. See comments under topic "University".
