My reply was to Matt's comment which, standing on its own, is clearly correct. the opening statement is wrong, regardless of who wrote it. The inaccuracy is that this:

...is a sweeping blanket statement that includes everybody living in the Middle East, and it most definitely should not.

For your need to "show them the light", we can only guide, Frank. Puppet governments have always failed. The nations must either stand on their own or fall. We can assist, but we cannot move in and impose a Western culture.

And as for the article, I will hopefully have time to read it this evening (it has a few pages in it).
