I think I read that Bayer (maker of Cipro) was the only one to ask - so far - for approval for anthrax treatment.

Besides which, in most cases by the time you realize you have inhalation anthrax it's probably too late.......
This is mainly going to save those who start taking medicine VERY soon after they suspect they have come into contact.

What is sad is that enough people have been panic buying - there may be little none available for a real outbreak, even though Bayer has upped its production.

BTW, for chemistry nerds only, doxycycline is in the tetracycline class of antibiotics, with a slightly different formula than tetracycline.
