If you're worried about the mail, keep household Clorox bleach handy. Diluted with 4 parts water, it will kill surface bugs including the A bug. Wash hands with this DILUTED mix quickly followed by soap & hot water to get off the bleach and avoid mild skin burns.
You're dead on about the superbugs. Many people are such self-centered wimps.
