If the anthrax bacteria gets into a cut is is cutaneous, if it is breathed it is respiratory, ingested with food it is intestinal. While there are more or less virulent strains, the primary difference in military grade is how well it is refined to allow airborn spores. I'm not sure how accurate this is buy it sounded good.

I have seen several TV science types say that penicillin is an acceptable alternative treatment.
