Hi Dennis,
Comments interspersed throughout...
Hey SDAI,
Your thinly veiled excursions into a solution for the Middle East, perhaps Europe and anyone else who happens to disagree with us, is rather bullish and reeks of elitism, enforced by nuclear power.
Survival of the fittest has not truly left this planet. As a result when dealing with peoples and nations - who live their lives by this policy - one must adapt ones approach. Civilized discussion regarding feedback and regenerative energy principles won't stop a young child from misbehaving 9 out of ten times - and so the threat of a spank is often required. Hopefully, by the time the grow up, they are better able to understand the errors of their behavior. Granted, spanking should be the exception rather than the rule - but sometimes in international dealings the spanking serves a valuable lesson and example to other- would be disobedient children.
>"The Chinese link to Bin Laden is becoming increasingly well documented and the reason China is even playing along with the USA is because they are complicit."
Oh please, like Bush & Co. didn't give Bin Laden his start? That's well documented too. "Do as I say and not as I do?"
There's a little hypocrisy going on here.
A lot of hypocrisy. However, we have the responsibility to take out our Frankensteins once they run away from us. Whether it be a Noriega, Bin Laden - or a host of others who become megalomaniacs with US backing.
>"China's youth has no love lost for the US - despite their increasingly capitalistic underpinnings to their economy."
They are a country unto themselves.
(Most countries are). I am trying to figure out what you mean about their youth not caring much for the USA....this sounds a little inflammatory.
The very latest generation has been especially hard-hit by anti-US propaganda since the Tienanmen Square incidents and democratic uprising.
While we may like to believe more young folks are capitalists - only a very small group of intellectuals and college students have been polarized into our camp, while the vast majority of teenagers are now believing the US is plotting to overthrow China.
>"Jealousy of the US way of life is everywhere. It manifests in the petty way nations address this issue - from Australia where sports figures say 'we had it coming' to France where students chant pro- Bin Laden songs."
I get World Press and this issue contained close to a hundred articles and editorials from AROUND THE WORLD, and a good portion mentioned the ramifications of our foreign policies, not to mention our arrogance and the use of military intervention when we couldn't get what we wanted by any other means.
It had NOTHING to do with jealousy.
We are not perfect you know. We should listen to some of the criticism and change the way we do business. According to your plan, we're taking over, come hell or high water.
My comments were inflammatory, hopelessly undiplomatic, and not meant for the global arena - however the general sentiment and policy remain unchanged.
Much of the world is jealous of the US - jealous of our sole-superpower status. Communist nations feel like they lost a long struggle, third world nations are so economically outclassed as to literally make the US appear like another world.
It is easy to pass noble, selfless attitudes onto these peoples and when they burn the American flag or kill thousands of Americans - believe they are doing it out of some retaliation due to ignoble persecution, but such is simply not the case.
The US is the world's biggest charity.
We save more lives yearly than any nation in the world. Our presence keeps the world economy churning and increasing the QOL for nations who did not invent the telephone, electric power generators and a/c long distance transmission equipment, the automobile, pennicillin or other 'saviors' of mankind.
We save more lives and have done more to increase the QOL of these hopelessly backwards nations than can be expected.
However, modern life is not for primitive peoples - you can't rush evolution. A mule is a mule, third world nations are generally hopelessly ignorant manifestations of primitive, almost wholly uneducated peoples with equally primitive governments.
You can hand them electricity, cars, medicines, etc..and it only makes them superficially appear like a modern nation - however their underpinnings are really to ignorant and primitive to sustain it without outside support.
These nations are children in comparison to the US and most European nations.
Their chronological age means nothing if somewhere along the way they lost the momentum to become more intelligent and sophisticated in both mind and action.
While some nations are doing fine - a lot of them are constantly becoming threats to their neighbors due to their ignorance. Modern US atomic technology stolen or copied - as in the case of the UK, Russia, India, France, Germany, Pakistan, Israel and China - do not make these nations on par with the US.
If their government is religiously restricted - these peoples have yokes around their necks and are generally under-educated. Even European nations like Germany are hampered by their 'Christian' religious doctrines. Stores closing at 5 PM and other archaic Catholic mantras have left them always a step behind the US in the freedom of their citizens. As such, the German peoples, are much like their government, somewhat repressed.
The middle east nations - like their religion - are hopelessly oppressive. As such their peoples can not prosper, invent, create or do anything but kneel in obeisance to some fancied deity.
So religion can be blamed for keeping these nations and peoples primitive in mind and action - however armed with modern weapons created by free minds - these primitive, oppressed peoples pose a great threat to civilization and their neighbors.
Jealousy is an emotion which is flamed by ignorance. Ignorance is in abundance in these regions. These folks do not know who Einstein was or Salk ...or Tesla - all they know is the US has lots of stuff they don't have. They are too uneducated to even understand what they do not have.
When someone is uneducated, it is the western response to pity them and feel they are somehow unjustly kept in darkness.
However this approach in itself is a misunderstanding of greater scientific principles. These people who incarnate in these regions are harmonically drawn to these regions - because their level and mentality is in sync with these primitive cultures. The same folks who performed astronomy in the middle east two thousand years ago are now studying astronomy at Palomar observatory.
The focal point or cutting edge keeps shifting upon this planet. When a region becomes stagnant or religiously obsessed - the intelligent folks move elsewhere.
This view may appear elitist - but it is the truth.
The truth is the planet is not equal. Nor are the peoples upon it. The concept of human equality is a misconception. We all are NOT equal - that is painfully obvious to the observant.
We are all at varying levels of intelligence, morality, physical vitality, etc.
Treating humans equally is an ideal - but one based in ignorance. If one treated all equally - no one would evolve. Schools treat each age of student differently - because of this truth. A kindergartener is not treated the same as is a high school student. A deaf child should not expected to respond to spoken instruction.
Therefore equality is a false ideal - a misconception which is good for a certain level of understanding.
>" The middle east is a firestorm....."
Not yet, it's a melting pot of Islamic peoples with every right to be on this planet and you and I do. Certainly there are radicals in EVERY country.......it doesn't mean we can't let their peoples live their lives.
Well, analogies aside, the middle east has been stewing in its own ignorance for two thousand years. The rest of the world moves forward and they are like a fly trapped in amber. They serve as examples of primitive attitudes and religious servitude for all modern peoples to see what they evolved from and might fall back into, should they ever lose their progressive momentum.
>"We may very well see Tactical Nuclear Engagement Techniques [(TNT) or (TeNeTs) depending upon which acronym you prefer ;-)
Your smiley face is out of place here.
How can you smile and laugh when you use this suggestion. Are you being careless?
The winking smiley face injects a bit of lightheartedness into a serious topic. It may indeed be out of place here. However the face was focused not on the nuclear aspects but on the disparity of the acronyms themselves - TNT being dynamite and TeNeTs - being guidelines or the core beliefs of something. One acronym is preferred by those who oppose tactical nuclear engagement - the other by those who wish it to seem more reasonable.
I would hate to see nuclear weapons deployed where it is unnecessary. However, I could see situations evolve wherein a tactical or small nuclear detonation can e used with great effect.
"> and the middle east will realize that he who holds the nukes is king."
If we step in and back up a country with nukes, it too will come back to bite us in the ass with the world's changing loyalties. Or, we may have the option to obliterate a country because it HAS the nukes. We shouldn't be getting THAT chummy with Russia or China because their loyalties are split too. MONEY is their #1 friend and ally. They'll go and do what is most profitable to them and their best interests. And why shouldn't they?
WE DO!
Starting the use of nuclear weapons in todays crazy world, is VERY, VERY dangerous for us. It could turn into a free-for-all and you know it. If you don't, you should. Pakistan and India are on the fence and they could turn either way.
Yes nuclear deployment is very, very, dangerous. The cold war was a much more stable environment.
I myself, am going to recommend the US protect its citizens from nuclear weapons with a design proposal for civic fallout shelters which were abandoned as 'provocative' during the cold war. Right now Raoul is better equipped to survive a nuclear attack than the US. Norway, and most of Europe has a great fallout shelter system - the US has none.
Is Norway or Europe hoping or expecting nuclear war? Of course not.
However they are better prepared for it - should it come. The US has gambled with US lives unnecessarily, and Walter Cronkite said already thirty years ago - that after any nuclear attack on the US - the first order of business would be to see who let the ball drop on Civil Defense which would cost millions of US lives.
>"All nations which defy the US and declare war against us in word and/OR actions - these nations will meet 'infinite justice' sooner rather than later."
Well, actions I can understand, but WORD??
Who's the "enemy"?
What's with the word "DEFY"?
You can't go around with that attitude young man, lest you get that chip knocked off your shoulder.....;~)
If you haven't noticed, not everybody agrees with us and our policies.
Now we're going to start to bully those who don't?
And if they don't, they'll suffer from our infinite justice??
In this world, as in WWII, if nations get to big for their britches - and attack us or declare holy wars against us - they will be suppressed. You cannot leave a gunman in a classroom full of children. You suppress that gunman one way or the other. You don't analyze what motivates that gunman or if his childhood was tormented, or if he was abused - all these analyses can be performed after the gunman is suppressed.
It is the responsibility of the parent to educate and discipline if necessary. The most advanced nation by default must assume this parental role.
Children can call their parents elitist - but the parent smiles and disciplines as it feels is appropriate to the situation. When a child harms another child - a spanking is in order.
>"In a nutshell, primitive peoples and mentalities can be allowed to ruin the planet for the rest."
This is the comment that prompted this response. It is sooooooo elitist, are you sure you aren't German and believe in this ultimate Aryan race?
Half-german. However, there is no such thing as any ultimate race - intelligence does not discriminate based upon genetic disposition.
You can find brilliance in all races - and hopeless ignorance. The body is a shell and the consciousness is the controlling factor.
We need an international coalition to police the terrorist groups, not just start bumping off "primitive peoples and mentalities" .
Of course. That is what is occurring. If we bumped off primitive peoples from the earth - no one would be left.
Suppression of the most ignorant or willfully destructive is the key. Terrorists fall into this category. Some nation's governments are on par with this level as well.
>"If I were a middle-eastern leader - I would be praying my nation is not just beaded green glass marbles - with automated oil refineries sitting on the surface. "
So, they'll be nuked to ground level, and Cheney will go in and automate his new oil wells? Just go in and take what we want?
;-)
"The planet builders made this world - the great civilizations and laws and buildings are our accomplishments..."
BS
Every country has it history, it's great civilizations, it's laws and buildings. Ours may appear to be better, but then our young civilization has not had a chance to fall yet. (but it's on track.....)
These people and civilizations have just as much right to be here as we do, they are no better or worse. Islam and its people take up a good portion of this planet. Are we getting ready to repeat some history here, like we did with the Jews?
Well here is te kicker - we can also repeat the dark ages where the Huns rule 2/3 of the earth. The tenets of the Koran justify 'spreading Islam by the sword'
You can contain such ignorance, patronize these folks, and make a primitive playground of the middle east - as has been occurring for the past hundred years. However, once they start jumping the fence and blowing up things outside the space you've allotted them - well then things change.
Suddenly, we must focus our attention to this primitive den of inequity - and take a hands on approach.
.>"..don't tick us off ;-)
SDAI-Tech1 "
I think we need an international court, however Bush is against that and prefers to be his own World Judge and Jury.
Chances are, he knows the US would be indited for past indiscretions and policies.
Again the role of the parent is to make the rules. When the others grow up things may change - perhaps someday a nation more evolved than the US will emerge - but I don't see it yet, and until then I will agree with Bush.
Sometimes a family can't survive as a democracy - with democracy, yes, but not as one.
Best wishes,
SDAI-Tech1
