However, the design of tanks is changing. The Army is testing lightweight armored vehicles that are designed for air mobility but still pack a punch (105 mm cannon on gyro stabilized mount). We'll see how these vehicles work out. Like I mentioned before, tanks were written off by some military analysts back in 1990 only to be crucial to winning the Gulf War the following year.
