A little historic background on Afghanistan...
"The Afghan host is kind and courteous and is likely to follow and rob you after you leave." -1955 Travelguide
"Afghani tribesmen manufacture their own rifles and their favorite sport is shooting at passing caravans from a safe distance with their home-made rifles and looting them." - 1931 National Geographic
"The Afghani does not like to set up shop and engage in commerce - but prefers non-moslems to pursue such dull professions."
"Afghanistan was conquered in the 7th century by Moslems and you can travel there to this day and see how life was lived a thousand years ago."
While the liberals on this board and throughout the US may love to ascribe noble intentions and intellectual persecution upon these folks - it is the sad truth that these folks are as primitive as any aborigine - perhaps more so - since commerce is beyond them.
Well, that's not entirely true...
the only thing they have learned to sell is opium.
What wonderful progress!
A nation of mountain-bound savages, who couldn't point out the United States on a globe - or their own country.
But these folks feel 'persecuted by American imperialism' and are the victim of 'American foreign policy'
The only thing that saddens me more than generations of blood-thirsty idiot-savages, is the appearance of idiocy in supposedly educated America.
Of course, these folks are not all US citizens - a lot of criticism of the US comes from Europe, Canada, Mexico, and the Far East - places where the grass and money is always a bit greener in the US.
We will not debate these Huns.
They are not intelligent enough to understand the term.
We will not barter with these Huns.
They are ignorant of commerce.
We will not make reparations to these Huns.
Unless the scrap metal left from a 5000 pound bomb contributes.
If you look at the apologists, collectively or individually, you will find that they have inordinate amounts of guilt which they wish to unburden.
Many live hedonistic or distorted lifestyles.
Many feed off the public trough and abuse the trust given to them.
Many, quite simply, project the persecution they feel living in America, because of their background, nationality, lifestyle, or the color of their skin - and project it halfway round the world to folks who have had no dealings with the US other than the knowledge that US supports Israel and therefore persecutes moslems.
Their hatred of America, it's institutions...and yes its PEOPLE is evident in every utterance, article, speech and post.
America is great because it tolerates these folks - lets them ramble on incessantly about imperialism, persecution, etc.
However, very few of these folks serve the military, have served or ever will serve.
I can't help but think of the female caucasian anti-apartheid excange student who was torn limb from limb in South Africa by the same savages she was trying to assist.
How many articles and letters did she write - how many sit-ins and protests did she attend...only in the end to be killed by her own ignorance?
I can't help but see many of these anti-america leftist, liberals being stoned to death or shot, execution style, by the same 'persecuted folks' they have such sympathy for.
And if you parachuted them down there - they would be killed most assuredly.
Killed by their own ignorance.
Some would say it is poetic justice. I think it is just karmic balancing out so that they learn the error of their ways the next time around...
Sometimes...the unruly or uneducated child must be burned to have a healthy respect for fire.
Imperialism is good. It is what has built up the great civilizations we have today.
America and all nations have been formed by imperialism!
Elitism is a phrase created by those who envy others based upon class warfare, monetary issues and family or educational backgrounds
America is the greatest nation on earth...though it's changing demographics, illegal immigration, disintegrating education and mindless agenda-driven schools - threaten this greatness.
The terrorist savages have done us a favor - they have helped spur a looking in on our immigration policies, our complacency and given birth to policies which will hopefully keep America great.
Best wishes,

PS there are lots of issues this post may bring up which may need further clarification...but for now...it stands as is.
Afghanistan - and my own views...
