Holding yourself up to ridicule - again

Really, Derek... When you go off the deep end you don't mess around. This irrational screed is the Marianas Trench of deep ends. The rank, rancid jingoism of your alleged 'historic background' is archetypical of exactly the kind of reaction I feared from the American people at large [remembering the 'rag head' slurs during the Iran hostage situation]. Since it seems that the news has escaped you, listen again to your duly-elected national leaders: the people of Afghanistan are not the enemy. The perpretrators of terrorism are, and they are not confined to Taliban, AlQuaida, or Moslem extremists.

[By the way, Frank is absolutely right about the editorial slant of National Geographic from that era. An article on Colonial Williamsburg from those years featured - within the fantasy context of the nation's oldest theme park - some Redcoats laughing at some black kids (that is, slave children) eating watermelon - the caption used the word 'pickaninnies' - my, how times have changed.]

As for the rest...

America and all nations have been formed by imperialism!

Has it escaped you that that statement is more suited to the rhetoric of the side you're so intent on deploring? If it helps, change the spelling to 'Amerika.' Then go find the definition of 'imperialism,' and read some history.

America is the greatest nation on earth...though it's changing demographics, illegal immigration, disintegrating education and mindless agenda-driven schools - threaten this greatness.

'Changing demographics'? To which historical juncture would you like to turn back the clock to rectify the changes - that is, which demographic group(s) would you exclude? More important to whatever psychology lurks beneath this rant of yours: Why? I'm not even gonna go near 'agenda-driven schools,' having a fair idea of the agenda you'd establish in their place.

Elitism is a phrase created by those who envy others based upon class warfare, monetary issues and family or educational backgrounds.

Ohhhh kaaaay... so, as you don't deny that there are class, monetary and educational disparities, your solution is for the have-nots to shut up and take it? Funny: sounds to me like the definition of elitism, not its negation.

The terrorist savages have done us a favor - they have helped spur a looking in on our immigration policies, our complacency and given birth to policies which will hopefully keep America great.

Sieg Heil!

And, finally:

And if you parachuted them down there - they would be killed most assuredly.

Killed by their own ignorance.

How about, just for shits and giggles, we parachute you into the fray and see how long you survive on the righteous strength of your superior knowledge and opinion? You can even be armed - in fact, a Rambo-esque scene seems most fitting. If the Taliban don't rip you to shreds in the first three seconds, you'll bleed to death from shooting yourself in the foot.

Some would say it is poetic justice. I think it is just karmic balancing out so that they learn the error of their ways the next time around...

Yeah... exactly.
