Apparently he is suffering a little bit over what he and his wife did, and this is good. I don't think he should suffer very long, though. Maybe a year or two on death row, then they can release him to the chair.
Technically, though -- wouldn't they also be terrorists...? It's a stretch, but the idea opens a lot of new and interesting cross examination procedures.
