I tend to think this is counter-productive.
One of the little known facts...is that in 1948 we (the US) were training arabs to fight the jews in their attempt to form a state. A half-hearted attempt to train and create pilots at an airfield left over since WWII and teach them how to use rifles was all that it consisted of.
The US has had a schizoid relationship with Israel since before its forming. Hate/Love/Hate...
The pendulum is swinging in many quarters to the hate side again - as Israel has demonstrated what they always have - a stubborn streak of prejudice and inflexibility which is equally as cruel as anything in the modern world.
With nuclear weapons rolling around this region now...one of these days we are going to here that Tel Aviv is dust and the winds are carrying radioactivity to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Egypt. All the special forces in the world can no longer protect Israel from its enemies.
Floods of refugees from these nations will be swarming over europe, the Americas and the far east.
So Israel has the balance of power now - thanks to our US weapons - but it is fading with each passing day. The truth of the matter is - atomic weapons are going to be acquired by these arab states very soon - if they have not already.
One of these folks - or renegades within their governments - will someday return Israel's love of 'escalated retaliation'.
While E.P.'s language may have been a bit strong - I think in this case I agree with the sentiments. I don't know who Rush is hanging out with these days since losing his hearing - but this is not the balanced conservative perspective this situation the middle east and Israel need to survive... even just ten years into the future.
