Hi Tom,
Instant Karma - doesn't quite work that way. Though you did see the man who burned the American flag set himself on fire - and that was about as close to instant as you can get;-)
All energy travels in cycles. Just like days, weeks, months and years... certain feedback happens only when the cycle is in phase.
Hitler did die...and in a horrible and unnatural manner. It did not take that long for the feedback to hit him.
Mr. Fisks articles have passed his hate unto lots of people. Global hate-spreading attracts quick feedback as the wave forms are strengthened by many folks thoughts. The internet is a powerful tool for good and evil.
So Fisk became a focal point not just for his own hate - but his piece brought out the hate in others and so he carried this baggage around him as well.
Heck, we all have entered a room angry at one time or another - and watched our anger make others angry....like a wave passed on.
Some people you just don't want to be around because they are always bringing everyone around them down to a lower level.
Likewise, we all know the people who are jovial and always on an even-keel who we want to be around.
All is cause and effect.
All is action and reaction.
Not all reactions are instantaneous.
A large rocket, when ignited, doesn't blast off instantaneously at top speed - but often builds slowly accelerating with the passage of time.
Karmic responses often build up slowly - or quickly in direct proportion to the energy expenditure.
Massive hate and violence = quicker reaction.
Fisks 'global' spewing - attracted a quick and forceful reaction.
The person who cracks off-color jokes by the watercooler may have to wait awhile for the feedback to build up ;-)
Best wishes,
