<You see Welfare as going to support primarily drunks and addicts, where I do not. The enlightened approach is to offer some alternative to those on the border of desperation so that they do not turn to violence or crime, and insofar that this entails some Welfare reaching drunks and/or addicts, so be it.
An assumption, and a very clear attempt on your part to twist what I very clearly stated.
“The ‘general welfare’ does not mean Welfare.”
Most research into the subject has shown the prototypical Welfare Queen to be a myth.
Which implies that ‘some’ results do not?
That there are stingy, selfish, short-sighted people who do not see this as a function of government is a given, but I prefer my point of view on this one because it is the wisest course.
It’s a big government, and people are ripping it off on a daily basis. You go ahead and enjoy your assurances. I’m still looking for some.
Cheers,
Dan
