They're dead, which should be some satisfaction.
A company whose job it is to keep the books honest that is found to be playing fast and loose with the numbers is a dead man walking. Trust is a big part of many companies' stock in trade. It would be the same as if Consumer Reports was found to take money under the table for good reviews (they don't). There's no coming back from something like that, no matter how many people you fire.
