Perhaps the disparity in reportage which you decry stems from the plain and simple fact that Whitewater was much ado about exactly nothing - while Enron is by all accounts the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.
The question remains: Why did the media keep the Whitewater story alive for so long when there was nothing there? There was no blood in the water, just a dirty tricks chumming operation that the press should have recognized early on.
Somebody was pulling strings to keep this story alive.
