George W. Bush is a great example for the deprived in our society. He is living proof that one is not required to be some sort of superman to become president--this highest of political office is within the reach of all native born citizens.

He is an example of what Andrew Jackson meant when he reacted to the criticism he endured when he fired all the career Republican functionaries in Washington and replaced them with Democrats. When it was mentioned that years of experience were being lost and unexperienced people were manning the government bureaucracy, Jackson opined that any job in the American government that couldn't be performed by the average citizen was proof the job had to be redefined and changed. I think he had Dubya in mind 180 years ago.

After all, in the words of our president, "They said, 'you know, this issue doesn't seem to resignate(sic) with the people.' And I said, you know whether or not it resignates (sic) doesn't matter to me, because I stand for doing what's the right thing, and the right thing is hearing the voices of people who work."

And, "It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas."

This degree of clarity is inspiring.
