I think a lot of people have had similar, sometimes frustrating, experiences... when I was a kid, my best friend was staunch Catholic and we had some interesting discussions, but whenever we came to the tough questions (like where did God come from), his response was always "we humans are not capable of understanding that". Drove me nuts, but we remained friends.
