I just watched a Shepard interview on Fox News Live with a guy that worked with Turner for years (I caught it in the middle so I didn't catch his name.) According to him Turner was a Goldwater Republican in his younger days but has always had paranoid tendencies. He would sometimes bring a gun to Board meetings and on one occasion when it appeared that a loan would not be approved, he pointed the gun at head and threatened to blow his brains out.
Turner's father committed suicide when he was a young man and left him the couple of million that he has parlayed into billions. He is often credited with coining "Lead, Follow, or Get The Hell Out Of The Way". I once admired the guy but he appears to be having senior moments at this point in his life.
