It's nice that liberals have a place where they can relax and enjoy their fantasies. I'm not going to bother going in there to argue...judging by the posts I've read it would as challenging as knocking down styrofoam cups with a fire hose.

And maybe somewhere in that fantasy country Bill Clinton turned out to be the smooth, witty, sophisticated, urbane, sax-playing intelligent man he pretended to be in 1992, when you all hoped that here, at last, was proof that the 60's really produced a new generation, new and better values, a new kind of person who would really be different from the other politicians, who really would have the most ethical administration in history, and bring the Camelot of liberalism that you never really had.

You can never forgive him for turning out to be an Arkansas political thug in the best tradition of southern political thugs: a good-looking version of Boss Hogg with no more morals or guilt than a cat. A true child of the 60's. You can't forgive him, but you can't admit you hate him for what he did because then people like me would find out and rub your noses in it. Worse, you would have to admit that he suckered you flat without even trying hard. So you have to go on pretending he's a hero and a great president, for your own self-respect if nothing else.

No doubt if I posted something like that over there, I would be called a ditto-head, a Nazi, a booger, or some similar scintillating commentary. I'm not sure my delicate constitution would be able to stand this, so I'll just stay away.

By the way, they spelled "parliament" wrong on the front page.
