Lezzee here, Carter is a fool because he thinks the greatest problem facing the world today is the growing disparity between the haves and have-nots? Hmm. Are you saying he is wrong? Or is this just something you have not thought about?
The Congressional Budget Office made an analysis of this trend from 1979 to 1997 and showed this gap to be a reality in the US. So you must think this is not true for the rest of the world?
During the period mentioned, the average after-tax income of the US wealthiest 1 percent swelled from $263,700. to $677,999--a 157 percent increase that dwarfs the income growth of those households making less money. In this same period, the lowest-earning one-fifth of Americans saw their after tax drop. The middle one-fifth showed only a 10 percent increase.
The 19 year period indicates the distribution of income grew substantially more unequal during this period. Perhaps this disparity is being reversed now? I think not. Poor Mr. Carter thinks this problem afflicts not only the US but the world at large, and this makes him a fool? Wow, I should be proud to wear the same cap. But I can spell REVOLUTION.
