An unexpected benefit

Good afternoon, Larry--

The family that I spoke of also benefitted from the friendships made with those self-same goodhearted folks who assisted them in building their little house. They have stayed active in the organization even though their house has long been finished.

In the case of the boy, he found worthwhile role models among the men who helped his family, at a time when he really needed them. Those contacts, made in the context of honest work, were what helped him keep it together in spite of his emotional turmoil.

As you said, it's the pride of ownership that makes this deal. Add to that, the connection with community. This family isn't looked at, and doesn't regard itself, as a burden or a charity case, but as a new success story.

Regards--
Mary Anne
