"Bush asks debt limit increase

For Republicans, a politically painful vote approaches

ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 — President Bush wants Congress to quickly approve his request to let the government borrow an additional $750 billion, but House Republicans wonder if the politically painful vote can be delayed a bit."

Bush inherited the world's strongest, most robust economy.
Bush cut taxes for the very richest people in the country.
The economy went into a recession.
Now that there isn't enough money, Bush wants to increase the debt owed by everyone, not just the richest to whom he gave the tax cut.

Now, you can't blame him - the rich are his constituency. "When the laws can be used to plunder, the plunderers will make the laws." Exactly what's happened.

And some people (not those on this board, I'm sure) will try to turn reality on it's ear, and say something else went on. Go for it - do violence to all logic, reason backwards. "I don't like this, so let's see if I can spin it differently" sort of thing. Again, the folks on this board are way, way too smart to do that. They know the truth and reality when they see it. (What the heck, it's worth a try! Ya gotta start your morning on the West Coast somehow.)

Warm regards to all,

Arf

Most folks believe that the recession was upon us when Bush took office. The link below from CBS, no less, indicated it is now over and was one of the mildest in history. If you believe that the recession belonged to Bush, do you give him credit for ending it? For clear thinkers, it is easier to believe that he did not cause the recession and that his tax cuts hastened the end of the downturn.

As to the borrowing of 750 billion, at least he is not taking it from the famous "SS Trust Fund" :^))).

I refer anyone that wonders about the increase in spending to the fading memory of the events of 911, the ongoing war and the high degree of likelyhood that the fall of the twin towers will someday be remarkable only because it was the first major disaster.

Anyone that questions the need for increased military spending should jump on the conspiracy bandwagon and pin 911 on remote control planes directed by the CIA. Who knows, maybe along the way you can help OJ find the real killer
