- A tax cut is a reduction in taxes paid by a citizen from his own productive wealth, or in the case of a rebate, a return of taxes he has already paid. It is not "government money paid out."
- The objective of a tax cut is to take money from the voracious maw of government and put it back into the private sector.
- This cannot be accomplished unless the people who actually pay taxes get the tax cuts. Terribly sorry, but the rich in this country pay almost all the taxes. Any tax cut that is going to move an appreciable amount of wealth into private hands must be a tax cut that includes the wealthy.
- Democrats like to cut taxes on the poor, because they don't pay any, and so the government ends up with almost as much money as it started out with, which is the real goal, and Democrats can still get credit for "tax cuts." Again, tax cuts on the wealthy result in actual quantities of money flowing back to the private sector, and the Democrats don't want that.
- Every nickel that remains in the private sector is a defeat for a Democrat.
- Every nickel kept out of the hands of government is a victory for productive citizens. Remember this one--it's important.
I support Republicans not because I believe in everything Republicans believe in, but because their opponents believe that the size of government should be essentially infinite. There is no upper limit in what a Democrat believes should be the control of the government on the lives of its citizens. Taking money out of their hands is one way to stop them, or at least slow them down.
