<The mild recession and small surplus (projected) is due to GW's genius.
I said he was blamed for the deficit and recession. I never said that any economic good news was due to Bush's "genius," or the genius of any other administration. A president can do one single thing to help "create" economic progress, and that is to keep the government out of the economic picture as much as possible. This includes cutting taxes, deregulating businesses, reducing government waste, and anything else that gets Washington out of our way.
In my humble opinion, the very best thing that could happen to the American economy would be to drop neutron bombs on Washington D.C. until the glow could be spotted from the Moon with the naked eye.
But of course, it would be wrong.
