<Questions: How long would the US tolerate religious Cubans flying over Miami dropping leaflets before shooting them down?
So, do you honestly think that, prior to September 11, unarmed Cuban Cessnas flying in international airspace near Miami dropping pro-Castro literature would have been shot from the sky by U.S. fighters, killing all aboard? Really? And there would have been no political fallout from our own civil liberties groups? Why would Bush be considered hypocritical for condemning the Castro shootdown unless Bush had previously shot down such planes or advocated such shootdowns? How do you come up with hypocricy here?
We have the opinion of Castro, a paragon of honesty. There are other points of view as well. Did you know the leaflets were dropped from international air space? That the planes were shot down in international waters? Would that make a difference to you?
For the record, I think the Cuban embargo is a stupid idea, and considering our trade with other totalitarian nations like Red China, it doesn't even hold up as consistent.
