That horse's knees are bashing up your head!! But you still got the hat, so you think you look good.
From Tom's links:
<"Let's just say we take responsibility for those leaflets," Jose Basulto, president of the exile pilots organization Brothers to the Rescue, said Sunday. "But I cannot give you any of the technical details of how we did it."
Basulto is already facing a suspension of his pilot's license for flying over Havana July 13 without permission07/13/95 and dropping political material.>
<BTTR participates in a flotilla, to remember and honor the 41 men, women and children killed on that date the previous year, after the sinking, by the Cuban Navy, of the "13 de Marzo" tug boat. BTTR aircraft flies over Havana to divert the attention of the Cuban command plane away from the boats of the flotilla, when these were being rammed by Cuba's gunboats. The command plane followed one of the BTTR aircraft.>
<Basulto never denied the July flyover - he even had a television journalist on board - but insisted that the January flights were outside of Cuba's 12-mile territorial limit, and that a strong northerly wind carried the leaflets to Cuba. Tamayo, however, declared heatedly that these "provocations" were being "completely ignored" by the United States. If the United States did not stop these flights, Tamayo warned, Cuba had the power to shoot down the planes. CarrolI says Tamayo asked: "What do you think would be the United States' reaction if we did?"
Carroll responded that he thought that Cuba would be "branded brigands" by the world community, but he promised to take the question back to authorities in Washing ton. The admiral viewed Tamayo's word as a specific "calculated warning" that if the Brothers' flights continued, Cuba. would act.>
These are only a few. The links in Tom's post are shot through with acknowledgments of overflights of Cuba, and Cuba warning appropriate authorities that they would be shot down if it continued.
Now, you would believe an unpressurized Cessna Skymaster 337, an inline, twin-engine airplane used in Vietnam for FAC prior to the OV-10, would stand off 12 miles dropping leaflets when they admitted repeated overflights. What a waste of leaflets, even if this once they did that. And at the altitude a 337 would fly, what sort of hurricane do you think it would take to get leaflets, soggy no doubt, to any populated place in Cuba.
Read your own links. I don't think you have the courage to apologize - I haven't seen that here.
Maroon. Bright maroon, deep maroon.
