I think that the rejection of Pickering in committee is a very bad thing. If enough folks agree the balance of power will shift and future Bush appointees will be confirmed.

If I am the GOP, I would take this and other obstructionist issues to the people big time. To paraphrase an old business axiom, "Power goes where it is invited and stays where it is treated well."

If the Republicans don't have the stomach for the fight, they don't deserve the power.

Either way, I am going nowhere since there is no Europe for conservatives like me.
