But perhaps, with both a complete understanding of your arguments and a total lack of automated parts, we simply disagree with you. Not because we're evil, not because we're blinkered, but because we see the world differently than you do.

I read your posts and consider your arguments. Your voice is heard. Yet the fact that in many cases I continue to disagree with you does not imply that your arguments are lost on me. A

[liberal's] opinions are subject to consideration and change just as anyone's opinions are, but if you expect us all to suddenly start carrying laminated [Republican] Party cards...well, you're just seeing the world in black and white, that's all.

The next time, and the time after that, and the time after that, that liberal views are crucified here because they are not conservative views, I would like to post this, with a link back to your original quote. It seems that you become offended when it's suggested that your hard-won views of the world are the result of some combination of ignorance, stupidity, and evil character traits. I am not surprised that you're offended. I know the feeling.

I'm also not surprised that Bowser made the remarks that he did. I've seen that sense of owning knowledge which passeth all understanding demonstrated here before, on both sides of the aisle.

I take your point about conservatives. The same is true of liberals. Unless, of course, conservatives wish to be seen as the disciples of the One True Political Faith, and represent the fact that there are influential liberals voicing their opinions as somehow the herald of the fall of Western Civilization. The One True Faith has always had to battle infidels, heretics and savages.

But perhaps the old adage that I would apply here, "What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander", is just another example of relativist morality, and a one-party system is the best kind after all. ;D
