Re: The point is

I was simply pointing out a small irony. I wouldn't want a heterosexual male adult leading a Girl Scout troop either, no matter how "normal and well-adjusted" he was. But maybe that's just me.

You have some good points, and of course most gays are interested in adult relationships and are as repelled by the idea of sex with children or teenagers as anyone else (see quotes in the last link below).

But it should also be pointed out that there is a growing movement to "normalize" sex with children, particularly sex between adult men and boys (there is no National Man-Girl Love Association), that is disturbing. Most gay organizations are resisting the attempts by NAMBLA and others to insinuate themselves into the mainstream gay movement, and should continue to do so.

This book by Judith Levine is only the most recent shot across the bows to normalize sex with children.

I have also posted these two articles before, "Pedophilia Chic" and "Pedophilia Chic Reconsidered."

The objective is apparently to bring what they like to call "intergenerational sex" into the mainstream, and what makes it disturbing is that it's not a bunch of weirdos on a website. It's now books published by universities.

Conservative talk show hosts who have been complaining for years about the steady creep of "normalization" of previously taboo acts have been making jokes about the sex-with-animals people being next in line. It's not looking that funny anymore.
