Just reading the article I can see where Israel is already in trouble with European mediators, but what could it hurt for the Europeans to get together and propose a solution? Israel can always tell them to go jump in the lake. Actually, given the group of people recommended for the meetings: the United States, the European Union, the United Nations, Russia, moderate Arab states, Israel and the Palestinian Authority, I don't see a lot coming out of the meeting rooms except medical stretchers.
The Bush Administration would be lucky to pass this wet baby on to someone else, although that would louse up the Democratic plan to have him splatter himself against this issue like a pigeon on the nose of a 747.
