I watch the video and read the articles, but my mind refuses to wrap itself around the details of the Israeli occupation.
I read Bowser's posts, but when he implores us to imagine this scenario, imagine that event, there's a voice in the back of my skull saying "Don't do it; you don't want to go there..." A self-defense mechanism, I expect.
There was a picture in a recent Time magazine that I can't get out of my head. Four or five Palestinian officers, dead in pools of blood on the floor of a bare office room. The caption says something about "shot at close range by Israeli forces..."
Perhaps those men were terrorists, perhaps they were awful, destructive people and the world's a better place without them, I don't know--nor am I likely to ever find out. But just as possible, perhaps they were decent men, who believed in justice and yearned for peace. It's not, I suppose, out of the realm of the possible. That could be a terribly naive thought, I don't know. (I don't know: three words, which--increasingly--seem to sum up my political thoughts.)
