To fall into line?

<Regarding the "military" action, and the ratio of casualties. First, it's not a "military" action. The Palestinians have no army, no tanks, no helicopters, no F-16s. At best they had a small paramilitary force without heavy weapons which had largely police functions.

A man shooting bullets at you with an automatic weapon during a military attack is a soldier. Deal with it. The fact that he isn't marching in lines in a pretty uniform, and is not part of an "organized army" is totally irrelevant. That fact that one side has better weapons is irrelevant. You're SUPPOSED to have better weapons than the other guys. Is it "unfair" that we went into Afghanistan with remotely-controlled bombs? Maybe we should have provided some to the Taliban.

This whole idea that it isn't a military action, or a "war," unless both sides are equally armed, is a new one on me.

...Frankly, the Palestinians look very much like the Jews of the 1940s, in the Polish ghettos, and the Jews seem like the Germans of the same era in occupied territories.

This is like the fourth time I've heard this comparison just today, from various media sources. I figure in another week or two, painting swastikas on synagogues will become something to be admired instead of a hate crime.

The assumption of the moral equivalency of the Nazis and the Israelis, which this comparison requires, should not require comment.

I realize I'm on the losing end of this. A leftist media, unable to spill months of accumulated bile of hatred for Bush, the American military, our attack on Afghanistan, and Western values in general, has settled on second best, and is working hard to make Israel, the representative of those values in the Middle East, indistinguishable from Nazis.

And they are spilling it all now.

The floodgates of public opinion manipulation have been opened. Israel knows that in a few weeks they will be standing almost completely alone. Won't be the first time.
