They want freedom, justice, they want to be recognized, they want to be respected, they want to live in dignity, they want to have a future, they want to have children, and, most certainly, several want to even go to space because they love it too.
Palestinians are human beings who are made up just like any other human being, have exactly the same problems as any other human being.
But, nowadays, they don't feel like they have a future, they are not optimistic and they feel humiliated, undermined and neglected.
And they react.
Under such circumstances, the natural human response is "I've got to do something".
They see no reason for hope coming from the other side, so they react.
And both sides go on ignoring what's behind the violence and violence doesn't stop.
Usually, the peace initiative must come from the strongest side, but is there an initiative?
If Powell delayed his meeting of Arafat because of today's suicide bomber, then he might as well not meet Arafat at all.
I can't believe Arafat calls the kamikaze and tells him or her "go, it's your turn". He doesn't control the situation but if the US would only meet him if he did (and prevented the suicides), then there won't be any meeting.
