I just see it as survival. There are people in this world I would trust with my life, mainly because I know them and lifesaving is something they are well trained in. There are, however, very few known to me who would actually kill to save my life, and that’s exactly what a sniper (AKA shooter) does.
Just a matter of perspective, really -- for some. For others, I suppose it would be a moral dilemma, one which could cost lives rather than save them. There are certain people who qualify for sniper, and there are those who do not. Then there are those who have the task thrust upon them, because the original shooter was taken down.
Not a pleasant occupation, and one that doesn’t appear on many résumés,
Dan
